This afternoon, Karen McCrimmon, Member of Provincial Parliament (MPP) for Kanata–Carleton, Lieutenant-Colonel (Ret’d) and former Reservist, tabled a motion regarding Metrolinx’s plan to provide free transit to veterans and active Regular Force members of the CAF. The current plan would exclude Canadian Armed Forces Reservists, who form a vital part of our nation’s defense, and are deserving of recognition.
The motion reads:
That in the opinion of this house, Metrolinx must ensure that active members of the Canadian Armed Forces Reserve are not excluded from the program for veterans and active Canadian Armed Forces to receive free fares on GO Transit and the UP Express.
