March is a vibrant and meaningful month in Kanata–Carleton, with many opportunities to connect, celebrate our community, and recognize the people and organizations that make it such a special place to call home.
As we look ahead to the arrival of spring, I am always encouraged to see constituents coming together through local events, cultural celebrations, and volunteer initiatives. I hope you will consider joining me at one or more of the activities taking place this month.
As always, if I can be of assistance, please do not hesitate to reach out.

In Our Community
Coldest Night Of The Year
This year’s Coldest Night of the Year was an incredible success.
A total of 181 walkers and 27 teams came together to raise vital funds in support of local charities serving those experiencing hurt, hunger, and homelessness.
Thank you to every participant, donor, and volunteer who made this possible. Your generosity and commitment are making a meaningful difference in the lives of so many.
You can still learn how to support the Western Ottawa Community Resource Centre by visiting their website at wocrc.ca.
I look forward to celebrating WOCRC’s 40 years of service to our community later this year and to gathering again for the Coldest Night of the Year next February.
More information and details about the next event are available here.
Visiting Grade 5 Students at W. Erskine Johnston Public School
How wonderful it was to spend the morning engaging in meaningful conversations with the Grade 5 students at W. Erskine Johnston Public School. You make me proud to look to the future, knowing you are paying attention to the doors opening before you. Your curiosity and thoughtful questions were truly impressive.
Thank you to Kim Strickland for organizing all the classes to participate together. It was an absolute honour to spend this time with you.
L-SPARK Mitel Accelerator at Kanata Tech Park
Congratulations to all the innovative presenters who pitched at the L-SPARK Mitel Accelerator Showcase. It was truly inspiring and gives me great confidence in the technological advancements emerging from startups to established leaders. Creative and collaborative solutions were on display throughout the showcase, highlighting the strength of our local innovation ecosystem. Well done to everyone involved.
211 Day
February 11 marked 211 Day. 211 helps connect people to local supports when they need them most, including housing assistance, mental health services, food programs, and other community and government resources. It’s free, confidential, and available 24/7 by phone, text, or online. Whether someone needs help navigating services or doesn’t know where to start, 211 is a reliable first step that can make a real difference.
